Ménage Maintenance
Your ménage should be maintained to keep it in good condition. On this page we offer some tips on how to maintain it properly.
Importance of maintaining your ménage
- Ensure your arena is clear from any droppings
- Hitch your leveller to your towing vehicle and if there is the option to adjust the height, do so accordingly
- If you are using the three point linkage leveller, it is advisable to lift the leveller, reverse into the corner and then lower the leveller back down, this excess surface that has been gathered into the corners can be smoothed and kept tidy.
- When you are satisfied that the arena is level, unhitch the leveller and be sure to park it in a safe place, away from horses and other animals.
- In most cases, the surface will have collected around the edge of the arena; in this case it is advisable to use the Edge Retriever attachment (LINK) to drag the surface away from the edge.
It is advisable to level at least once a week if you are the sole user of the ménage and it is used once or twice a day. If the ménage is used more regularly, say by 3 to 5 people a day, we suggest that it is levelled every 2 or 3 days.
It is also advisable to level after every show jumping or grid work session.
